Drying Tower
As part of the recycling process of cooling units, the insulating foam is ground down during the mechanical treatment step. In this process, the chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) contained in cooling units with a polyurethane insulation are released. Since the CFC does not always manage to degas entirely during the recycling process, the drying tower enables the PU powder to degas further. The drying tower can be added to existing plants without difficulty.
The technology at a glance:
- using screw conveyors the material is moved and turned while at the same time nitrogen is fed into the process and temperatures are increased up to 55°C
- at least 42 m material transport distance achieved by several screw conveyors
- connection for gas extraction towards cryogenic condensation unit
- connection to cooling circuit of Cross Flow Shredder
